Preparing for your first consultation
A clear description of your needs helps make the meeting productive.
Start with your goal
Write down the outcome you want: discussing a contract, buying a property, addressing an inheritance matter or preparing residence documents. Separate established facts from assumptions and note any decisions already made.
Prepare a timeline
List the main events and dates. Include upcoming meetings, signatures and notices you have received. If a document specifies a deadline, mention it immediately so a specialist can assess it after reviewing the document.
Describe your documents
Make a list of the contracts, letters and other materials you hold. Do not send originals, passport details or complete document sets through the public website form. First agree which documents are needed and how to provide them.
Agree on the next step
During the meeting, clarify the scope of further work, fees, communication and responsibilities. The first consultation helps establish a route forward; the specific actions depend on your circumstances.
